Early Life & Education
Strive Masiyiwa was born on January 29, 1961, in Zimbabwe (then Rhodesia). At the age of seven, his family moved to Zambia, where he completed his primary education. For high school, he was sent to Scotland, an unusual move that broadened his global perspective. He later pursued a degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Wales, graduating in 1983.
The Birth of a Telecommunications Giant
After completing his studies, Masiyiwa returned to Zimbabwe in 1984 and started an electrical engineering business. However, his true passion lay in telecommunications.
